Master Surya Sundar Raman, Master Vijay Srinivas and Ms. Maalika who are currently in grade 11 have scripted a new chapter in the history of Thamarai by clearing the level two NTSE exams and secured a place for him in the list of 844 students selected nationwide.

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is one of the flagship programmes of NCERT to identify and nurture the talented students. This programme came into existence in the year 1963, which provide for the identification of talented students and awarding them with scholarships. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of a written examination conducted at two levels, first one by the respective state governments and the second by the NCERT. The written examination comprise of three test components namely Scholastic, Mental ability and English. The students who qualify second stage are eligible for scholarships. The scholarships under the present scheme are awarded to the candidates for pursuing courses in Sciences and Social Sciences up to Doctoral level and in professional courses like Medicine and Engineering up to second-degree level to the fulfillment of the conditions provided by the government time to time. For the fourth year in a row, four students from grade 10 of Thamarai International school have cracked the NTSE level one examination. They will be trained for NTSE stage II which is to be conducted on May 8, 2016.
